Excellent food. My favorite fried shrimp best in CT. Hot dogs and onion rings excellent also. You can't go wrong here. When your done walk it off on the beach. Can't wait to go back.

I really enjoyed this place. It was a very clean area lots of space. The food was really good size portions. The view was beautiful it was a warm sunny day so... it was a great day for a walk on the beach. I will definitely return in the near future with hubby.

I used to come here for special occasions when I was young. Don't live in the state anymore but came back to visit family and had to make a stop. Just like I remembered! Delicious food and fantastic portions!

The view is great. Staff were great, very attentive! Food was ok. Clam chowder was interesting, lobster roll was yummy, french fries were soggy and warm.

Things have definately changed over the years. We drive up from Baltimore to eat here and always take food to go, pack it in our cooler and head back. We was up last on 2/23 for lunch. Lobster rolls ate still great, but dunked in too much butter (I had one in Jan. and Feb this year, happened both times). It falls apart on you and you have to eat it with a fork. Still good, though. On 2/23 we wanted some shrimp to take back with us. Was told we'd have to order it off the dinner menu. No biggie. When we got home and opened up our bag, this is how Jimmies packed up our food. Shrimp sandwiched between two paper plates. WTH is this Jimmies??? This is how you serve your customers? My waitress actually gave me a to go containers to pack up about 20 leftover fries from lunch, but this is how you pack up food to go?

Amazing meal here, whilst en route to Philadelphia from Boston. Midday meal so restaurant was quiet so no wait - our server (didn’t catch her name) was amazingly helpful and friendly. Food was absolutely great.Thank you!

I'm going to start by saying the wait was amazing. It was short and quick even though it was super busy. Next we where seated and the waitress was super kind and didn't rush. She got us our drinks and we ordered the sampler for an appetizer. She also had us order our food I got the stuffed shrimp and my mother got the clam strips. Everything tasted on peek. I've never had better shrimp. And the clam strips were the best my mom's ever had. So all in all this was an amazing visit.

Lunch on a Sunday had maybe 30 people in dining room. I had hot dog per other review I had seen. Fries were almost good but seemed to be sitting for some time. Daughter had grilled Cheese with tomato and bacon and thought it was great. Wife not happy with her lobster salad salad. Unsweetened tea was blah. Only went there because be of beach.

Just okay. We just ate there recently and the food the was just okay. The cold slaw tasted old and the cabbage was not crisp. The fries looked good but were not crispy and it tasted like the oil was a little old. The lobster roll had quite a bit of very small pieces of meat which probably came from the legs and only a couple of large pieces from claws, etc. I will look for another seafood restaurant next time I'm in the area.

Lovely! Dining Al fresco nice. Food still great and fresh. Tarter sauce the same and the place is full of happy memories from my college days at UNH!

Great Shrimp!!! Great Clam Strips.. The tarter sauce is ridiculously delicious. I go their just for that! Decor inside restaurant needs to be renovated. You walk in and you flashback to 1995.

Absolutely love Jimmies! Food is always very fresh, perfectly cooked and of high quality. It is very reasonably priced and in all the years I've been coming I've never had a bad meal. Service is attentive, quick and the drinks are excellent. I try to always get a table overlooking the beautiful beach and water. During the summer we like to sit at the outside bar. There is ample parking and you can walk in right from the boardwalk or beach.

Love it been going there since I was a kid.

Haven't been here in 10 years but just as good as I remember! Handcut crinkle fries, tasty sweet fried clam strips and cole slaw and lots of it. Even knew how to make a gin gimlet. Good service too!

This restaurant offers a stellar view of West Haven's Long Island Sound but the food is simply adequate. Although I have had better else where, make the right choice and order their fried oysters or scallops with extra Tartar sauce and lemon- no regrets, yum! Their other dishes (like pasta) lack harmony and don't blend well, just so so. Salads are good and they do nice birthday celebrations :) Very spacious and good service in general.

Friendly, courteous service, starting with the hostess. Bring your appetite as the food is fresh and servings are huge! From appetizers to main coarse to desserts, everything was delicious. Jimmy's is one of our favorite "go to" restaurants! It never disappoints!

Jimmies has a long history, known for decades by many locals; back when it was simply a shack known for its lobster rolls and fried clams (which are still on the menu). Today it's a large seaside restaurant with a bar and patio. The food was only good enough: we had the fried clams, shrimps and scallops with a cup of clam chowder. The scallops were a standout: crispy and fresh & moist inside. Side items (such as fries, rice or potatoes) were a bit bland. I think you have to set your expectations before coming here. This is not 5-star fine dining, nor do I think they try to be. It's classic seafood, served comfort style. The service was honestly great. Very friendly and attentive. The location is ideal; with great views of the ocean, easy parking, beaches nearby and a promenade along the coast. Overall, you can have a great time there.

Jimmies has for years been a beloved spot for me and my family. I'm the third generation to enjoy their seafood. My 90 years young Grandma remembers when they were just a hot dog stand! We've always frequented Jimmies for special occasions and in between. Situated oceanside the view is always refreshing, and the smiles from Lisa and the Staff bring a familiar warmth to the place that never wanes. I haven't found a place that tops their broiled salmon which never fails to satisfy my tummy and taste buds. While my Mother orders fried sea scallops sweet and tender, my Grandma sticks to her classic: two split hotdogs with onions, mustard and crinkle cut fries which we always dip in their oh so creamy and never too much relish tartar sauce. No one does it better.

Good food, great service! No long wait... love Jimmies!

Good quality fried food with fairly large portions. Fried shrimp and scallops were especially good. Service was pretty decent although our first appetizer came out much early than the second. Other than that our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Decor is a bit dated but atmosphere was still pleasant. Great view of the boardwalk. We ate around Sunday afternoon at 4pm and the place was busy but not packed. A very solid dining experience overall.

This place never disappoints. They serve excellent food for reasonable prices, there are no long waits even when they are loaded.

I always like to come to Jimmies it has a variety of food. I went Monday night a family of 4 it was nice and quiet the only thing i didn't like was how our waitress was more attentive to a group of 3 right next to us. I guess because the tips are included on the check when is a group of 4 or more they dont care to give us a good service

Great food, right on long island sound, I love the outdoor patio

Our waiter was too occupied with the people who was trying to cheat and not want to pay for food. So she didn't come to us and even ask us once where we okay. We didn't realize why she gave that table special attention until the end when we overheard them say "oh yeah I'm not paying for this either" then the manager comes out and they caused a big huge scene. Then me working in retail it all came and made sense to me.
